I have been wanting to get an HD Flat Screen Television for a looooong time today, and have just been looking forward to the prices to drop with a range I could afford. When I saw this particular TCL 40-Inch, I knew in which my time had occur at last.
It is a fantastic first-time TV. I arrange it within minutes right out in the box. Very easy, simply no muss, no fuss. Used to do have to buy a separate High-definition multimedia cable in order to hook it up to my Dvd and blu-ray player, but that’s also cheap and easy. Plug and Participate in.
The image looks great. It is such a vast improvement over our analog TV that it was like viewing new movies. I do not have a Blu Ray player, but my Dvd and blu-ray player has an upscaling attribute that lets me use the full 1080p potential of the screen. The only issue I have had with the image is the Backlight Sensor, that senses the light inside the room and adjusts the picture accordingly. I found this kind of always left the photo too dark, so I transformed it off and do the manual placing.
Aside from the Backlight Sensor, the TV doesn’t have a lot of features. This is a bare-bones machine. In reality, my old analog TV could accomplish more interesting points (like picture-in-picture), but frankly I barely employed those. There are a few different monitor options, and you can zoom a picture if you want, but again, in addition to playing with that feature regarding awhile I by no means touched it again.
I am not sure if it is the TV or my Dvd and blu-ray player, but many of my old pre-widescreen DVDs, specifically my more mature Disney and Popeye toons, get automatically “widescreened” to fit the screen. This is the bummer because it is essentially pan-and-scan this means I lose a number of the image. I have looked at, but haven’t TCL L32HDF11TA identified anyway to set the actual aspect ratio in order that it gives me a square picture.
Overall, I’m thrilled with the TCL 40-Inch. I had created some worries regarding not getting a acknowledged brand name, but I have experienced this TV for several months with no difficulties at all. I would happily buy a TCL TV yet again.
